Suscol Ranch Vineyard
Permitting and Wetland Mitigation
WRA worked with Joseph Phelps Vineyard on a vineyard planting project located in southeast Napa. A jurisdictional wetlands delineation, rare plant survey, wildlife assessment, and California red-legged frog survey were conducted by WRA biologists on a 170-acre property previously used for livestock grazing. WRA helped to obtain Section 404 Nationwide 26 and Section 401 water quality certification permits to fill 0.75 acres of wetlands. WRA prepared a Wetland Mitigation and Monitoring Plan for 1.50 acres of compensatory seasonal wetland mitigation to be created on-site. WRA prepared grading and planting plans for the mitigation wetland and adjacent riparian planting area and helped to oversee the construction and planting of the mitigation wetland area. WRA is conducting five years of monitoring and annual report preparation for the mitigation wetland as required in the mitigation plan approved for the project.
