Pleasanton Golf Course
Permitting and Wetland and Riparian Mitigation
Development of the 346-acre Happy Valley Golf Course site in Pleasanton involved impacts to approximately one-third of the five miles of intermittent streams in the project area. WRA provided extensive assistance with four permit applications, and also attended meetings between the City and the Corps, RWQCB, CDFG, and USFWS which helped lead to issuance of four resource agency permits for this project. Mitigation for stream impacts included creation of 8,540 linear feet of new stabilized seasonal stream channels and installation of riparian plants along 11,600 linear feet of created and existing stream channels. In addition, wetland mitigation areas were created in the 168-acre open space portion of the project site. WRA prepared a wetland and riparian mitigation plan to describe post-construction management and monitoring efforts on the site. WRA prepared grading and planting plans and specifications for the created wetlands and streams in consultation with a hydrological engineer. WRA conducted California tiger salamander surveys within the project site, and verified presence of the species in open space areas that will be preserved for salamander habitat.
