Wetland Restoration

As a leader in tidal wetland restoration, WRA provided ecological consulting services to develop a Master Plan for a 24-acre tidal wetland restoration at the Palo Alto Baylands in San Francisco Bay. The tidal marsh restoration focused on integrating a restored natural habitat for endangered wildlife species in an area that was under use as a dredge disposal site and a public park. Fully implemented by 1997, the phased project has developed into a productive tidal wetland habitat with a balance of public access that provides recreational and educational opportunities to the citizens of the Bay Area.
