Pebble Beach Golf Course
Wetland Permitting
WRA completed a survey of aquatic resources within the entire Del Monte Forest on the Monterey Peninsula to assist in development of project alternatives that would minimize impacts to wetlands. WRA acted as lead consulting firm in the development of a wetland restoration plan to preserve and enhance these resources within the proposed development area. As part of restoration plan development, WRA designed an assessment protocol specific to Pebble Beach wetlands and conducted a functional assessment of existing wetland resources in order to identify preservation priorities and restoration opportunities. WRA provided review and comment on the project EIR and is currently involved in permitting activities associated with aquatic resources.
WRA also conducted California red-legged frog surveys on Pebble Beach Company property located on the Monterey Peninsula. WRA documented the first sightings of California red-legged frogs on the Monterey Peninsula and determined the locations of several breeding sites. WRA prepared a Biological Assessment for the frog and is working closely with the USFWS Ventura Office to develop appropriate mitigation measures to reduce construction-related impacts in upland areas and to preserve existing wetlands and breeding sites in the Del Monte Forest.
