Tri-Valley Transmission Line Extension
Environmental Impact Report
WRA acted as the biological resources consultant on a team for the California Public Utilities Commission that prepared the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for a PG&E transmission line project in the Dublin-Livermore-Pleasanton area, in the eastern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area. The project involved identifying and mapping plant communities and potential habitats for rare plant and animal species over the 23-mile long proposed project route, as well as the 13 alternative routes comprising another 50 miles. The study area included a wide variety of sensitive upland, wetland, and riparian habitats, as well as seven special habitat management areas, and potential habitats for 31 rare plants and 61 rare wildlife species. Potential project impacts were determined and evaluated for their significance. For impacts that were determined to be significant, measures were recommended to reduce the impacts to a less-than-significant level. WRA was able to rapidly respond to proposed route adjustments, allowing the EIR to be completed on schedule. WRA also attended public workshops and responded to numerous written comments from the public and from PG&E.
