Chris Zumwalt, BS
GIS Manager

Mr. Zumwalt received his BS in Geography from the University of Nevada at Reno and completed the requirements for a minor in Biology. His studies in geography emphasized cartography and the use of geographical information systems (GIS). Mr. Zumwalt has extensive experience with multiple applications of GIS including ArcGIS, MapInfo, and Smallworld as well as multiple ESRI extensions. He is also trained in AutoCAD, computer information technology, data base maintenance, and programming with Visual Basic.
Mr. Zumwalt has diverse GIS experience from projects that include biological resources mapping, watershed analysis, vegetation mapping, soil survey analysis, land-use planning, natural hazard assessment, and remote sensing. He is proficient in the re-projection of data in real world coordinates as well as working with aerial photographs and other images. Mr. Zumwalt is well versed in the transfer of data across multiple software formats and platforms and has played an essential part in the creation of predictive habitat data modeling for endangered species. He also has extensive experience using global positioning systems (GPS) and integrating this data into the GIS environment. Mr. Zumwalt has developed custom GIS applications and implemented efficient automated techniques for routine tasks.
