Jayson M. Wood, BLA
Landscape Designer

Mr. Wood received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Degree from Pennsylvania State University. During his time there he focused on multi-disciplinary coordination and sustainable planning. His studies included a semester in Rome, Italy, and classes in Green Roof construction and energy efficient engineering. Upon graduating, Mr. Wood helped acquire a windmill that supplies a portion of a rural resident’s electricity each year; this inspired him to become a LEED Accredited Professional.
Prior to his work at WRA, he gained invaluable experience as an environmental planner in the Northeastern United States where he worked with public and private clients on land development, storm water design, grading, wetland delineation/mitigation, and environmental permitting. The majority of his past work took place in the sensitive Chesapeake Bay Watershed, influencing cutting edge storm water solutions and strict agency criteria. Jayson worked to develop creative, environmentally sound, systematic solutions for projects involving multiple county, state, and federal agencies. He has received training in wetland identification from North Carolina State University and has assisted in the delineation and mitigation of wetlands along hundreds of miles of power lines across the Northeast. He is also well versed in NPDES permitting.
Jayson’s responsibilities at WRA include environmental consulting, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and assisting in monitoring construction activities at project sites. As a landscape designer he is committed to finding the most beneficial balance between design and the environment. He hopes to create lasting designs that provide users with a new found interest in their natural surroundings. He is currently studying to take his Landscape Architecture License examination.
