Kate Tollefson,
MLA/MCP
Landscape Designer

Ms. Tollefson received dual Masters degrees in Landscape Architecture and City and Regional Planning, with a focus on environmental planning, from the University of California at Berkeley. Her graduate thesis examined child-centered urban stream design. Other graduate work included vernal pool mapping and modeling, post-project analysis of creek restoration projects, social factors of design, and conducting user-surveys of public outdoor spaces. She completed her BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Carleton College, Minnesota.
Ms. Tollefson's project experience includes stream monitoring and data analysis for design purposes, as well as preparation of conceptual and detailed site plans and construction documents. Her work in international community development and indigenous rights has given her experience in resource planning and site assessment, in the context of projects such as re-forestation and water quality. Ms. Tollefson's responsibilities include grading, planting, and irrigation design for wetland and riparian mitigation projects. Her work focuses on public access to outdoor areas, wildlife habitat, stream and tidal marsh restoration, native plant restoration, and regional landscape planning.
