Mr. Stagnaro received a BS in Wildlife Resource Management from the University of California at Berkeley. He has over six years of plant and animal field experience and environmental consulting in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Sierra Nevada. Mr. Stagnaro is responsible for conducting biological habitat assessments and surveys for special status wildlife species. He is experienced in preparing biological reports and assessments, including special-status species monitoring plans, restoration and mitigation plans, and survey reports. He currently holds a Recovery Permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for San Francisco Garter Snake, Alameda Whipsnake, California Red-legged Frog, and California Tiger Salamander.
Mr. Stagnaro has experience assessing Alameda Whipsnake and San Francisco Garter Snake populations by use of drift fence and funnel trapping. He has extensive experience handling, PIT tagging, and processing these federal listed species. He also has experience using aquatic funnel traps to determine Giant Garter Snake presence. Mr. Stagnaro has been responsible for the design and installation of the unique funnel traps required for each species.
MIn addition, Mr. Stagnaro has conducted habitat assessments and surveys for Sonoma Tree Vole, California Clapper Rail, California Black Rail, California Red-legged Frog, California Tiger Salamander, vernal pool crustaceans, and Bay checkerspot butterfly. He also has experience with furbearer surveying, avian point count surveys, Western Burrowing Owl habitat assessments and surveys, Western Snowy Plover surveys, raptor nesting and migratory breeding bird surveys, small vertebrate live trapping, Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse assessments and monitoring, marine mammal surveys and monitoring, bat roost surveys, Tule Elk aerial and ground surveys, and vegetation transects and mapping.
