Dana Riggs, B.S.
Associate Wildlife Biologist

Ms. Riggs received her BS degree in Earth Systems Science and Policy with an emphasis in Coastal and Marine Ecology from California State University Monterey Bay. She has over seven years of environmental consulting experience in wildlife biology, aquatic freshwater ecology, and project management. She has directed and conducted a broad range of resource studies including biological resource inventories, wildlife habitat and corridor studies, stream habitat assessment and monitoring, local and regional management planning, and restoration planning for a variety of public and private sector clients.
Ms. Riggs conducts habitat assessments and species specific surveys for listed species including California Red-legged Frog, South-central California Coast Steelhead, California Tiger Salamander, San Francisco Garter Snake, California Clapper Rail, Least Tern, Myrtle's silverspot butterfly, and bay checkerspot butterfly. She has prepared documentation for Section 7 consultation and Coastal Zone Development permits. She also has experience preparing permit applications for Clean Water Act Section 404 Nationwide Permits, and Section 1600 Streambed Alteration Agreements. Ms. Riggs is currently responsible for managing and conducting biological reconnaissance studies, initial study/CEQA review, national environmental studies, Section 7 consultation and permitting, special status species surveys and monitoring, and long-term habitat management planning.
