Ms. Rentner received a Master of Science degree from the University of Hawaii, Manoa with an emphasis in Natural Resource and Environmental Management. She completed her BS in Forestry at the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture.
Ms. Rentner has utilized a variety of field sampling techniques for tree and vegetation surveys, tree and forest health assessment and characterization, rare plant surveys and monitoring, and plant community mapping and classification. Additionally she has conducted wetland delineation, amphibian and fish surveys and habitat evaluation, revegetation planning and monitoring, weed management planning, and wetland functional assessment. She has used watershed modeling programs to evaluate land use effects on coastal habitats, and soil erosion models to predict soil loss in developed areas.
Ms. Rentner has worked in reclamation planning for active and retired mines and quarries, management and monitoring of grazing programs for habitat improvement, and biological review for CEQA planning. She has assisted in attaining environmental permits for development, restoration, and infrastructure improvement projects including California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) Section 1600 Streambed Alteration Agreements, and Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404/401 permits.
Ms. Rentner's forestry experience includes evaluating forest or tree impacts for development projects, baseline forest conditions for oak woodland preservation and restoration, riparian habitat mitigation and restoration, and coniferous forest demonstration harvesting. In addition, Ms. Rentner is experienced using aerial and remote sensing technologies to map habitat types and wetland features.
