Ingrid
Morken, M.L.A.
Senior Landscape Designer

Ms. Morken received a Master of Landscape
Architecture degree from the University of California, Berkeley,
with an emphasis in Environmental Planning. As a graduate student,
she studied the ecological evolution and potential conservation
strategies of Sacramento River cut-off channels and oxbow lakes
for her thesis project and for use by The Nature Conservancy
Sacramento River Project. She completed her B.A. in Environmental
Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota.
Ms. Morken's background includes preparing conceptual,
layout, planting, and irrigation plans and construction documents,
primarily for habitat restoration and mitigation design projects.
On these projects, she coordinates with hydrologists, wildlife
biologists, and botanists to develop site design and construction
methods that maximize biological diversity and provide habitat
for sensitive species. She also has led and coordinated the
implementation phase of restoration projects and monitored
construction activities at project sites. In addition, she
has written numerous reports on restoration site conditions,
including as-built and long-term monitoring reports.
Ms. Morken's work experience includes restoration
and riparian ecology, data collection and analysis on vegetation,
hydrology, and other ecological characteristics at restoration
sites and in wetland, stream, and riparian systems. She also
has used aerial photographs and GIS to assess historical site
conditions and analyze changes in physical characteristics
and vegetation composition of project sites over time. Other
experience includes conducting riparian setback surveys and
preparing watershed assessments.
