Leslie Lazarotti,
MS
Biologist

Ms. Lazarotti received her Masters degree in Ecology and Systematic Biology from San Francisco State University, where she gained experience in wetland monitoring, invasive species biology, and coastal scrub ecology. She has worked for San Francisco State University, and the San Francisco Estuary Institute conducting vegetation monitoring and water quality sampling in tidal wetlands throughout the Bay Area. Ms. Lazarotti has also worked for the State Water Quality Resources Control Board (SWRCB) as part of the 401 Water Quality Certification Program.
Ms. Lazarotti analyzes vegetation distribution and composition, assists with planning and presenting restoration projects, and helps to meet client’s goals within the context of California’s environmental policies. She conducts vegetation biodiversity analyses and biological assessments in a variety of habitats, including coastal scrub, riparian areas, conifer forests, wetland habitats, and grassland habitats. Ms. Lazarotti identifies and maps vegetation communities, including sensitive California coastal communities.
Ms. Lazarotti writes initial studies, mitigated negative declarations, and biological resource sections as part of the CEQA review process. She performs associated supportive studies for CEQA analysis, including wetland delineations, rare plant surveys, and general habitat assessments. Ms. Lazarotti has extensive experience completing permit applications for agencies, including the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), the US Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), and the California Coastal Commission (CCC).
