Jennifer Adler,

Biologist

Ms. Adler received a Master of Environmental Management from Yale University's School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, with a focus on biodiversity conservation. Her coursework covered topics including coastal ecosystems, plant systematics and anatomy, soil science, hydrology, fire ecology and policy, endangered species policy, land use planning, local environmental law, and GIS mapping and spatial analysis.
Ms. Adler serves as a botanist conducting rare plant surveys, biological resource assessments, vegetation community mapping, and wetland delineations in a variety of locations ranging from intact ecosystems to highway corridors and urban redevelopment areas. Ms. Adler performs wetland and riparian mitigation monitoring and develops restoration, mitigation, and monitoring plans. She performs assessments of environmentally sensitive habitat areas (ESHAs) under jurisdiction of the California Coastal Commission. Her work in the Coastal Zone includes performing ESHA delineations, creating mitigation measures and restoration plans, and completing Biological Reports of Compliance for Coastal Development Permits.
Ms. Adler's professional experience includes the installation and maintenance of native plants for the purposes of endangered species and habitat mitigation and restoration, erosion control and stream bank stabilization, and landscaping. She has worked on numerous resource management projects on public and private lands, including endangered species research and habitat restoration, invasive species control, seed collection, and rare plant monitoring. Ms. Adler has experience in developing and implementing site management plans and weed control strategies, and leading volunteers and community groups in restoration activities. She is also practiced in exotic plant removal and fuel reduction techniques.
